About Tim Neil
Tim Neil Tim Neil, born in 1954 is of Cajun/Irish decent, and was raised in Houma, Louisiana. After graduating in 1972 from Terrebonne High School, he began his studies at the University of Southwestern Louisiana and received his B.F.A. in Applied Arts. In 1978 he moved to Hollywood, California. Tim has had a successful art career working with various clients in the movie, television, and the music industries. His talent has been used for ads, posters, album covers, story-boards and more. Some of his clients have been Disney, DreamWorks. Paramount, CBS, NBC, ABC, HBO, a variety of art studios and advertising agencies in the Los Angeles area. In 2004 he moved back to his home state of Louisiana. Tim's home and gallery are currently in the uptown area of New Orleans. With increased environmental concerns in recent years, Tim Neil has used items salvaged from homes flooded in Hurricane Katrina as a symbol of Louisiana’s strength. He believes that each piece of wood and slate is a piece of the South that should never be lost but saved. Tim’s art depicts images of Louisiana nature and wildlife on reclaimed wood and slate from historic New Orleans homes destroyed or damaged by Katrina. Louisiana Art by Tim Neil
